During the current phase, i.e., Phase-III of the funding, the program has been designed for installation of solar PV systems at 5 Schools in Haryana, 3 Schools in Maharashtra and 3 schools in Tamil Nadu. The program also included a component on providing the trainings to the schools’ staff about the operation and maintenance of solar PV system. By providing access to clean energy APTIV will reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by 66,860 Kg CO2 equivalent per year for the next 25 years. The system has directly benefitted 2945 school students and staff children going to school approximately. The total indirectly benefitted people are more than 34,8642 people.
Objectives of the program:
Ø To implement the Clean Energy Access Program in Haryana, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu to facilitate the digital education such as smart classes, computer in the
selected government schools in these states.
Ø To work with APTIV to disseminate the success and develop strategies to scale-up the program.
Ø To build capacity and resilience of the students and local villagers.
Ø To support local government efforts in building a resilient infrastructure for primary healthcare services and schools.
