The Lok Janpal Bill <\/a>has received a tremendous response from India’s Civil Society which is totally fed up with the endemic corruption and a government which refuses to do anything as most of its ministers are caught in numerous scams themselves.One of its former ministers is already cooling his heels in Jail after India’s Supreme Court was forced to take over the investigation as the government refused to take action.The Anti-Corruption Bill which has been formulated by eminent citizens and social activists has been rejected by the government (what a surprise) and the ruling party Congress has refused to talk.Here is a Guide and Summary<\/a> of the Main Points of the Draft of the LokJanpal Bill.Instead the ruling party\u00a0 has brought in politics into the picture saying that Anna Hazare has become a puppet for the opposition.<\/p>\n

The leader of the movement Hazare who has gone on a hunger fast in the capital has deflated this propoganda in a letter to the Prime Minister telling him not to insult his intelligence and wisdom by calling him to be a puppet.He has also pointed out the 8 different versions of the Lokpal Bill as evidence that the citizen movement was unflexible.Note the Lokpal Bill has caused a major problem for the ruling party which has totally lost most of its moral authority through scam a day and failing to act against the corrupt.<\/p>\n

Hazare asks PM not to mislead the nation<\/a><\/h4>\n

Veteran social activist and Gandhian Anna Hazare has written an open letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him not to mislead the nation.<\/p>\n

“Unhappy that instead of solving the issue of corruption, Government is more bothered about speculating on our movement. I have heard that people have said that I have been cornered into fasting. This is an insult to my intelligence and wisdom. I have exercised my restraint. We have eight versions of the Lokpal Bill. You (the Prime Minister) haven’t passed the weak version. Please do not mislead the nation, by telling that we are not ready to talk,” Hazare wrote in the letter.<\/p>\n

“You have said that the Government has initiated certain processes. Some of the people drafting the legislation should have been in jail. Should I have faith in these processes?
