The G20 is an\u00a0intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union. The main agenda of G20 is sustainable development, climate change, and financial global stability. The group comprises both developed and developing nations of the world. The group\u00a0includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US, and the European Union. These\u00a0countries represent ~85% of the global GDP, ~75% of the global trade, and more than 65% of the world population.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lotus in the logo of G-20 is a symbol of hope in these tough times\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cG20 Presidency is not merely a diplomatic meeting for India, it is a new responsibility and a measure of the world\u2019s trust in India\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we strive for our progress, we also envision global progress\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEnvironment is a global cause for us as well as personal responsibility\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be our effort that there should be no first world or third world, but only one world\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur G-20 mantra is – One Earth, One Family, One Future\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cG-20 will not be limited to Delhi or a few places. Every citizen, state government and political party should participate in it\u201d<\/p>\n

Founded in 1999, the G20 summit was convened once in 2008. The upcoming G20 summit is special because we are the hosts. Yes, India is all set to welcome dignitaries from all parts of the world for the next meeting.\u00a0India will preside over the G-20 Summit\u00a0from 1st December 2022.<\/p>\n

Progress on Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), particularly health and education,\u00a0will be the key priority for the G20 Summit. Other topics like\u00a0strategies for green development, fostering climate finance, technological transformation, and digital public infrastructure will also be included. Women’s development and food, fuel, and fertilizers will be the border themes for the G20 summit along with a focus on counter-terrorism and economic development.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the logo (lotus flower and a globe) and the theme (One Earth, One Family, One Future –\u00a0Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) for India’s G20 presidency last month.\u00a0100 Indian monuments, including UNESCO world heritage sites, will be lit up highlighting the G20 logo for a week.\u00a0He emphasized\u00a0that even if the world is in a deep crisis, we can still progress to make it a better place.\u00a0The G-20 Presidency will offer a unique opportunity for India to contribute towards matters of global importance.<\/p>\n
