Expectations of the\u00a0<em>Modi government enacting strong pro-growth measures<\/em> is supporting the overall market dynamics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/images-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4982\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/images-1.jpg\" alt=\"Electricity\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/images-1.jpg 259w, https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/images-1-100x75.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width:767px) 259px, 259px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the few proposed reforms in the power sector is the <em>merger of the\u00a0Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Ministry of Power (MOP) to form one <strong>integrated ministry<\/strong><\/em>. This move will be targeted towards balancing of power and common transmission infrastructure between\u00a0renewable energy and conventional sources of energy.\u00a0 Another major issue that this ministry could combat being one, is tackling the delay of payment from the Discoms. Since the MNRE is not in a good position to\u00a0deal with the non-payment by Discoms, a combined ministry could help to resolve this problem. The delay in the payment has been plaguing both\u00a0conventional and non-conventional power generation since long.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Also, read\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/2018\/02\/27\/is-solar-here-to-disrupt-the-utilities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Is Solar Here to Disrupt the Utilities?<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On the\u00a0issue of non-payment by Discoms, minister RK Singh said\u00a0\u201cIt is a matter of worry, this has been flagged to me. The idea of an integrated power ministry is nothing new and exists in many countries.
