This list consists of approved\u00a0models and manufacturers of solar modules and solar cells. It\u00a0consists of two parts &#8211; List I specifying models and manufacturers of solar modules and List II, specifying models and manufacturers of solar cells. This list will be effective from March 31, 2020. Any <em>government projects\u00a0and others set up for the sale of electricity to the government<\/em>, after March 2020, will be <strong><em>required to procure components from these enlisted vendors only<\/em><\/strong>. Any solar project for\u00a0which bids have been finalized\u00a0before the issuance of this order will be exempt from this mandatory procurement requirement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Jinko-Solar-Residential-Comercial-Project.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7498\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Jinko-Solar-Residential-Comercial-Project.jpg\" alt=\"Jinko Solar Residential Comercial Project\" width=\"264\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Jinko-Solar-Residential-Comercial-Project.jpg 264w, https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Jinko-Solar-Residential-Comercial-Project-114x75.jpg 114w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width:767px) 264px, 264px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To be a part of this esteemed list, manufacturers should first get <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/2017\/09\/19\/indian-bis-quality-requirement-for-solar-panels-could-halt-surging-chinese-imports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>BIS registration or certification<\/strong><\/a>. An inspection of the production facility is then conducted by a team of MNRE. These could random quality checks, regular audits, site visits, etc. The models and manufacturers shall be enlisted in ALMM for a period of two years\u00a0which can be later renewed upon submission of the necessary documentation. In case of any non-compliance, they shall be removed from the ALMM. In addition, <em>an applicant is required to submit:<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>i) prescribed fees<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>ii) documents proving their financial condition and physical manufacturing\u00a0capacity<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>iii) other documents required by statutory, state, Company&#8217;s\u00a0laws,\u00a0etc.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since solar\u00a0power installations\u00a0are set up for a period of 25 years, the solar cells and panels used in these projects should be of good quality\u00a0carrying long warranties. In western countries, testing is usually done by independent testing labs. In India, it will be now done by government\u00a0officials. If done properly, these quality checks would ensure higher power generation and long life of solar projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This step should boost the quality of solar projects in India and also support the &#8216;<strong>Make in India<\/strong>&#8216; movement.
