The city, located in Delhi NCR has become home to a large and growing gen-next population looking for professional opportunities. Given the rising population in the city, there has been an increase in pollution levels &#8211; both from a rising number of private cars and uber cabs, and\u00a0diesel generator sets used as power\u00a0backup. Given the high temperatures in the city, there is a high demand for power for running fans and ACs. However, there is an intermittent supply of power in the so-called\u00a0millennium city.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Jinko-Solar-Residential-Rooftop-Project.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7497\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Jinko-Solar-Residential-Rooftop-Project.jpg\" alt=\"Rooftop Project\" width=\"448\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Jinko-Solar-Residential-Rooftop-Project.jpg 448w, https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Jinko-Solar-Residential-Rooftop-Project-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Jinko-Solar-Residential-Rooftop-Project-113x75.jpg 113w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width:767px) 448px, 448px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The government of Haryana now wants to solarize its two prominent cities &#8211; Gurugram and Faridabad to take corrective actions. As a result, it has mandated the installation\u00a0of rooftop solar panels on government buildings. Gurugram alone has a peak power demand of 1600 MW\u00a0on a hot summer day, whereas the city just has a total of <strong>25 MW of solar power<\/strong> installed till date. The city has made a very slow progress in this area, even though the state had made it compulsory\u00a0to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/2016\/04\/29\/could-haryana-solar-rooftop-witness-a-boom-under-the-new-norms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">install\u00a0<strong>rooftop solar <\/strong><\/a>for any institution above a certain size, even earlier. However, poor implementation of policies and lack of proper infrastructure had earlier led to a slow progress.
