The states are also doing their bit in promoting solar usage.\u00a0 A large portion of the Indian population still lives in darkness. These villages have no grid connectivity as the transmission facilities are poor in the country. As such the concept of micro and mini grid is also gaining popularity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Indian transportation<\/strong> also has ambitious plans of using solar panels to satisfy their power needs. Over the next five years, the\u00a0railway ministry\u00a0has a target of installing <strong>1,000 MW<\/strong> solar power plants. They are also encouraging rooftop solar in this regard.
