The company is using its expertise in wind farm development to get into the development of solar farms. It has built huge expertise over the years in EPC and the power markets. It has good relationships with regulators and power utilities which allows it to have an edge in the development of large solar power plants which require similar capabilities. Suzlon has taken a different track than the other large EPC companies such as LT and Mahindra. The solar developers benefit as they have to take much lower risk in terms of bidding and initial construction. They also get a good quality solar asset as <strong>Suzlon is one of the top EPC firms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Suzlon also has a win at its hand as it does not have to lock capital in solar farms for too long and it can churn capital rapidly to construct new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/2016\/06\/13\/list-of-8-largest-solar-farms-around-the-world-capacity-500-mw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">solar farms<\/a>. <strong><em>Suzlon has a vision of becoming one of the largest renewable energy firms in the world<\/em><\/strong> and getting into solar energy is imperative as the wind energy market in India has matured with growth rates tapering off.\u00a0 It is important for all large wind companies to have a solar strategy in place as the growth in solar energy is expected to be exponential<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gamesa<\/strong> which is the largest shipper of wind turbines in India has already become a top <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/2015\/07\/09\/gamesa-looks-to-aggressively-enter-into-different-solar-energy-segments-panels-inverters-epc-in-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EPC company in solar energy<\/a> and is also manufacturing large volumes of high quality <strong><em>1500 V solar inverters<\/em><\/strong>. <strong>Inox<\/strong> has not entered the solar energy in a big way, but is making plans to do so as well.
