MNRE has designed and implemented different programs under\u00a0<em>grid connected, off grid and decentralized system<\/em> to mainly enable grid competitive prices to use the clean and green energy as power source. These programs also include research and development of the different sources of energy.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Read\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/2011\/04\/04\/pros-and-cons-of-renewable-energy-a-detailed-explanation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pros and Cons of Renewable Energy \u2013 A Detailed Explanation<\/a>\u00a0on GWI.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Grid Connected Power<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>These involve private investment with favorable tariff policies.\u00a0The different programs implemented by the MNRE under Grid connected power are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) Wind Power<a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/13530930-wind-turbines-and-solar-panels-in-a-rapeseed-field.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-14333\" title=\"13530930-wind-turbines-and-solar-panels-in-a-rapeseed-field\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenworldinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/13530930-wind-turbines-and-solar-panels-in-a-rapeseed-field.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/13530930-wind-turbines-and-solar-panels-in-a-rapeseed-field.jpg 400w, https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/13530930-wind-turbines-and-solar-panels-in-a-rapeseed-field-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/iiec-india.org\/greenworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/13530930-wind-turbines-and-solar-panels-in-a-rapeseed-field-112x75.jpg 112w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width:767px) 400px, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2) Bio-Power<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0which further includes:<\/p>\n<p>i) Biomass power \/ bagasse cogeneration<\/p>\n<p>ii) Non-bagasse cogeneration<\/p>\n<p>iii) Biomass gasifier<\/p>\n<p>iv) Urban &amp; Industrial wastes<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) Small Hydro Power<\/strong> &#8211; upto 25 MW station capacity<\/p>\n<p><strong>4) Solar Power<\/strong> &#8211; including both Thermal and Photovoltaic solar power.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Off- Grid Power<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Off grid power programs have been mainly implemented to support the energy requirements of communities isolated from electricity. These include rural and remote areas, areas where grid electricity is not available and\u00a0for meeting captive needs.\u00a0The different programs implemented by the MNRE under Off-Grid power are:<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">1) Biomass<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\"> based heat and power projects and industrial waste to-energy projects<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>2) Biomass Gasifiers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3) Watermills\/micro hydro projects<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4) Small Wind Energy &amp; Hybrid Systems<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>5) Solar PV Roof-top Systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Decentralized System<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>MNRE also provides various renewable energy technologies in rural areas without any electricity. These are the areas which are the most benefited by the use of renewable energy as their source of power.
